Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation
A life of dignity and distinction.
We offer Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation in our 80-bed, Medicare-certified Skilled Nursing Center, specially designed to create a homelike environment. We are a 5 STAR skilled nursing center ranked by Medicare.gov. We provide short-term Rehabilitation and long-term Nursing Care with spacious private and semiprivate accommodations where each resident’s privacy and dignity is always respected. Residences feature private bathrooms, individually controlled thermostats, electric beds, TV, phone, and pleasant views.
Gracious dining rooms promote socialization, while delicious meals meet specific nutritional needs of our residents. Our dining room and quiet lounges are available for private family dinners. The outdoor walking paths and patios include numerous and diverse plants and fishponds to enable secure walks in a garden-like setting.
Physical, occupational, and speech therapy services are provided in our well-equipped on-site Rehabilitation Gyms. We provide rehabilitative services to individuals whose lives have been altered by normal aging, illness, or an injury. Our goal is to promote functional independence, promote wellness and prevent disabilities. Rehabilitation services are available on an inpatient basis to Nursing Care residents and on an outpatient rehabilitation basis to other Highlands’ residents and individuals from the surrounding community.
Heather Court is our memory support program at The Highlands. All 18 of the spacious accommodations are private. The enclosed outdoor courtyard with walking paths and patios with many diverse plants and ponds enables our residents to take secure walks in a garden-like setting. Family members and friends are encouraged to dine and participate in activities with the residents. Heather Court has earned the Center for Excellence award for Dementia Care Program of Distinction by the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.

Staff get to know each resident, so care and treatment are individualized. Through relationship bonding, trust is built through empowerment, not restriction.
The Highlands is supported by our Medical Director, Ruxandra O. Jadic, MD, a board-certified geriatrician and internist who has special knowledge of the aging process and special skills in the diagnostic, therapeutic, preventative, and rehabilitative aspects of illness in the elderly.
