The Highlands at Wyomissing announces a new partnership and sponsorship of Alvernia University’s Seniors College program. Residents of The Highlands are now able to attend all Seniors College classes offered over the three semesters. Classes will also be offered at The Highlands.

The Seniors College programs objectives are to: support the University’s Mission to lifelong learning, provide a service to the community and support opportunities for volunteer community outreach, enrich the lives of senior adults through active participation in academic courses, lectures, seminars and other activities, and finally to encourage and enhance the social, intellectual and cultural interaction of senior adults.

The Highlands at Wyomissing’s mission is to enrich the lives of senior adults through sponsorship of a high-quality, not-for-profit continuing care retirement community.

To that end, Alvernia University and The Highlands enter into a partnership that jointly fosters their mission and objectives. A primary goal of this partnership is to encourage lifelong learning for senior adults of The Highlands and enhance the educational offerings.

“Learning is a continuous process and we believe this partnership will enhance intellectual stimulation and keep residents engaged in lifelong learning, personal fulfilment and enjoyment through participation in a variety of courses, programs and activities.” said Kevin DeAcosta, President & CEO of The Highlands.
